Hi, I'm Nnamdi Ekeledo-Smith!

Hello and welcome to my online portfolio. My name is Nnamdi Ekeledo-Smith. I am a mixed-medium artist, Based in Melbourne. who utilizes photography, text, painting and sound as tools to explore and question the intricacies of race and culture through an artistic perspective. Over the past 2 years, I have dedicated myself to an intensive exploration and contemplation of what it truly means to be labeled as Black and what this experience is. In this endeavour, I have undertaken a photographic documentation of my family, friends, and non-biological family, inviting them to define "Black" using only the first three words that come to their minds. Subsequently, I asked them to pose, embodying those very words. I currently reside in Colonial Melbourne, situated on the stolen lands of the Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung people of the Kullin nation. As a mixed-medium artist, I passionately pursue my craft with a focus on exploring diversity of perspectives. I extend an open invitation to send me an email with any questions or proposals you may have around conversations of culture or for collaboration. I am always eager to engage in discussions and opportunities to learn. Additionally, I am pleased to offer all the artwork's in this space for sale, though the real reward lies in the meaningful connections and experiences derived from my artistic journey. Thank you for your interest and support. I look forward to connecting and sharing insights through the powerful language of art.Feel free to explore my VCA Grad show exhibition using the link provided below. https://art2022.finearts-music.unimelb.edu.au/programs/bachelor-of-fine-arts-photography/nnamdi-ekeledo-smith
